Kingdom Rules places the reader in the harsh realities of characters facing a war-torn fantasy world. Although it didn’t bother me, I will say the prologue and other moments throughout the book could’ve benefited from a trigger warning as complex and potentially traumatizing themes are presented without warning, including sexual violence.
Despite the lack of trigger warnings, this story is still captivating with extremely interesting characters and plot lines.
